Nordic Technology Group Myanmar has begun operations at a new container freight station in Yangon that packs garments for export, the logistics and warehousing company said on November 14.
The container freight station in Dagon Seikkan Township checks, sorts and packs garments and footwear for export to Europe and the United States, NTGM said in a news release.
“We’re delighted to open up our new CFS,” said Mr Thorstein Svendsen, managing director of NTGM.
“We form the link between the many smaller garment factories and the big buyers and freight forwarding companies, giving equal market access to all players, so this expansion is key to allow growth in the SME garment sector in Myanmar,” he said.
NTGM has grown rapidly since it was established in Myanmar in 2014 to provide project logistics for the oil and gas and telecoms sectors, before moving into warehousing and providing CFS services.

The Dagon Seikkan site opened in October and NTGM plans new sites in Mandalay later this year and in Yangon in March 2018, it said.
“Our customers rely on us to make sure everything is handled just right,” said Daw Mon Myat Thu, NTGM’s general manager.
“From checking the garments in, to sorting them, hanging them in specially fitted out containers, and clearing them through customs, we have to get it right, on time, every time – we can’t miss,” she said.
