The banking arm of diversified conglomerate Kanbawza Group has announced a partnership with Microsoft to modernise its information technology infrastructure.
KBZ Bank will benefit from the partnership by transforming its IT infrastructure with Microsoft SQL Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 and System Center 2012, the bank said in a news release on September 18.
The move will allow the lender to deliver cloud and mobile-optimised services that it expects to launch within a year, the release said.
It said the digital transformation would gradually be extended to other group operations, which include mining, aviation and real estate.
“This partnership not only enables us to grow our business, but also raises our brand value in both the country
and region due to our commitment to security and intellectual property rights,” said Stephane Lemoureux, IT director for KBZ Group.

“For example, Microsoft Sharepoint, Skype for Business and Office Pro Plus will alleviate a lot of current mundane and manual processes at the organisational level and will help maximise efficiency.”
The agreement is Microsoft’s largest IT deal in Myanmar since it established a presence in the country in 2013. The US company said in a statement it was committed to transforming the way Myanmar companies and people transact and interact.
