5 dead in Air Force plane crash: MOI

YANGON — A Beechcraft 1900 turboprop plane operated by the Myanmar Air Force crashed shortly after takeoff from Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday morning, according to the Ministry of Information. 

The plane crashed into a field near Kyan Khin village in Nay Pyi Taw’s Lewe township at around 9:45am, killing four of the five Air Force officers onboard. 

The fifth officer was sent for treatment at the military hospital in Nay Pyi Taw but died shortly afterward, according to the ministry.
